Mighty Maui Puppet show

Today we had a puppet show at school. The puppeteers came from Taupo to tell us stories about Maui. We enjoyed the puppets and we got to help with the show and go on stage with the puppets.

Music with Music Jo

We are very lucky to have “Music Jo” come in each Tuesday to help us learn all about music.  Jo is teaching us songs, musical terms, how to use instruments and how music is all around us in our everyday life and learning. 

We have started by learning about dynamics.  In music the word dynamics refers to the volume of the sound. The two basic dynamics indications in music are piano, meaning “softly” or “quietly” and Forte, meaning “strong” or “loudly”.

Music Time

We have been learning about playing in time with the beat.  We have been learning to play Adagio (slowly) and Allegro (fast).

Max's Tornado

Max brought in his amazing tornado from his fifth birthday cake.  Max told us how real tornadoes are created and the damage they can cause.  

School Library

On Friday we visit the school library.  We are able to choose one picture book to bring home for a week. Please help your child to return their library book by Friday morning; this will enable us to issue another library book for them to bring home.
