Dinosaur Maths.

We drew an enormous dinosaur and measured it using our ten and ones blocks. 

We made a baby dinosaur and measured it too.

We made sure we had no gaps or over laps.  We had to count carefully.

We all paint the dinosaur.

Learning about the Olympics

We were lucky today to have Jake's Dad talk to us about his experience of competing in the Los Angeles Olympics.  We are so lucky to have access to such amazing experiences within the Hampton Hill School community.  

He showed us his wresting togs.

Room One's Math Assembly

SPCA Visit

The SPCA came and talked to us about how to care for our animals.

We listen to a story about how to look after our pets.

We found out that the SPCA helps to rescue animals.

We got to meet two very cute rabbits.

We had to be very gentle.

Music with Jo

We have been learning to listen to different notes.  Some are high and some are low.  Some are right in the middle.

We are starting to learn the musical notes.  We started with fruit music.
We had to break our fruit names into syllables to sing them. 

We talked about how we can use this music knowledge in reading and writing to help us to break words into syllables to help us read them and write them.

Week One - Writing in Room One

The New Zealand Playhouse

The New Zealand Playhouse came to school and put on a show for us.

It started with an auction. We got to bid by sticking out our tongues and making faces.

The Internet Troll lived under the bridge. He wrote mean things on the computer.

We tried to warn to Magic Mirror about the Troll.

Snow White went to visit her friends, the seven dwarves.

Snow White stopped the Internet Troll and fixed her computer. She helped the troll to change his ways.

100 Days at School

We made pictures of  what we would look like when we were 100 years old.

We made 100 day glasses.

We counted 100 drops of water.

We painted 100 dots.

We made 100 little pictures.

We had a special 100 day cake.  

The cake was delicious!
